Why Mindfulness

“The way you speak to yourself matters.” –

My partner always praises me for my traffic skills - if somebody cuts me off I run my mouth for 30 seconds than everything it is back to normal and I return on enjoying my drive. How am I doing this? It is easy: mindfulness. Well actually it is not easy - it a process that was done during time and that was based on a choice to create a new habit - of being mindful. I have several habits that support my superpower - my morning routine coffee while being present in the moment, doodles for activating my brain, breathing with meaning and in a way that awakes my body and last, but not least meditation - 2 or 3 minutes max. From time to time during the day I take one minute break and focus my attention to make sure I stay connected to my mind.

Here is a good explanation of what is mindfulness:

If you don’t know where to start - the easy way is to pay attention through out the day when your mind is running to other things rather than focus on the one you are actively persuing. Make a consciouns effort to bring your mind back to the moment and stay until you finish the task. Don’t blame or fustrated or get angry with yourself if you notice that you need to this a lot in the beggining - it is normal. Just follow the same route back to focus - remember it is a long procces and it needs practice. You get practice if you do it every day for several minutes - the Kai Zen way.
